Almost everyone has a blog, why not get one free? A web log, blog or online journal are basically all the same thing. They allow you to create a web presence without all the hassle of running a website. A blog is easy to update and you can post your thoughts and photos in minutes all for free! To get started, go HERE, (link will open in new window so you may continue to read this tutorial). Then click the "GET YOUR BLOG" button. You will have to create a free Bravenet account. By creating your free account, you will not only get a free blog, but you will have free access to 100's of free cool page add-ons like guestbooks, polls, counters and more. Click the "Join Bravenet Now" button. After you create your free account, you will receive an email to verify your information. Click the verification link and you will be taken to the Bravenet home page to log in. Log in at the top of the page with your user name and password. Under "Web Tools", clock "Blog" and agree to the terms and conditions of blogging. You will now find your free blog's service page. This is where you customize the look and layout of your blog. It is from here where you will review your pending comments and create new posts of your own. You can see by the menu that there are a great number of tools to modify the look and feel of your free blog. A great place place to start is the "Change Theme" link. This is where you can choose a template for the main look of your free blog. Or for the advanced user, you can click the "Look and Feel" link and edit your color scheme manually. To create a post on your free blog, click the "Post New Entry" link and you will be taken to the page editor. By default, the page is set to visual editor, but you can click the "code editor" tab and enter your own html. When you are done with your post, click the "Post Entry" button at the bottom of the page. It may take a few posts for you to get the hang of it, but do not be afraid to play around with the settings and browse the hundreds of free web tools you can add to your blog.
