One of the hottest free website providers in a while is omnEgocio.

  1. To get started with your free web hosting account, CLICK HERE. (link will open in a new window, so you may continue reading this step-by-step tutorial.) Then in the middle of the page, click on the big "Start Now" button. On this page you may review the plans, but if you just want a free site, click on the big "Proceed To Sign-up" button. (be patient, the next page may load slow)

  2. In the left column, in the top box, make sure the drop-down box is set to FREE PLAN and payment term is set to 0.00. Under "Domain Registration Type", choose "Register a Free Sub Domain Name".  Under "Domain Name", you will choose the name of your free website. This will be the address of your free site, for example, with free.eporio.com, I chose free. In the right column, you will enter your personal information, You MUST use a valid email address to validate your account. hint: numbers only in your phone number (no dashes). ** If you see a place to enter your "credit card information", make sure you have chosen  "Register a Free Sub Domain Name" in the left column. There is NO payment required or credit card required for a free website! Then click the "Submit" at the bottom.

  3. On the next page, you may review your personal information and then you must check the box to agree to the "terms and conditions". Then click the "Submit" at the bottom. The next page will confirm your signup and your free site will be activated in the next 5 minutes. You are then referred to your email you signed up with.

  4. You will receive 2 emails. The first email will confirm your order and the 2nd will confirm activation and will contain a link "Click Here To Log In". Click the link and enter your user name and password, then click the "Go" button. (your user name is NOT the website name you chose earlier.)

  5. You are now at the Quickstart Wizard page. Here you will be choosing your free website's design, and adding text. I would recommend you watch the "Help Movie", by clicking the Help Movie" link near the top right of the page. You have 2 choices; colorful or simple. Neither choice is any harder to build, so I will choose the left (colorful) selection, and click the "Go" button.

  6. On the next page, you will choose a category for your free website. This will ensure that the images on the templates will match your site's topic. After you choose a category, on the next page you will choose the design. You will then "Choose Color & Image Option for your Website". You will then "Your website’s Main Title, Sub Title & Email Address". You may then "Add Pages to your Website", but remember, the free version is limited to 4 pages. You will then see the basic design of your website. (You will add content at a later step.) At the very bottom, click the "ACCEPT DESIGN" button. You will then be taken to the "Page Manager" This is where you edit, add content and publish your free website. (It is also the location you will arrive at when you log in again in the future.)

  7. Once again it is very helpful to watch the "Help Movie", by clicking the Help Movie" link near the top right of the page. It now has content on how to update your pages. To add content or modify your pages, click the "Edit" link to the right of your desired page. There may be a couple different text boxes that represent different areas of your free webs page. Type in your content, and click the "SUBMIT" button at the bottom of the page. When you are happy with the content, be sure to click the "PUBLISH" button near the top right of the page.

     Also, be aware that in the left column of your Page "Manager" page, there are a couple free extras available to the free website author. You may use the basic image editor, optimize your pages to make your free website search engine friendly and ad goodies like hit counters and maps.
